The Round the Island Race, hosted by the Island Sailing Club in Cowes, the race was first sailed in 1931, and today sailors are still competing for the legendary Gold Roman Bowl. Now known as the JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, it is one of the world's biggest yacht races. Over 1600 yachts of all sizes compete, each with a handicap, which ensures that everyone - Olympic medallists and weekend sailors alike - has a fair race.
